All nations in SAARC region have more or less same population distribution in rural and urban areas and financial character of population distribution with same Health related problems.
India with 1.3 billion population, high growing economy and among 10 rich countries is not able to deliver good health care system which has less then 3% of GDP spent on it.
India is a federal System of democracy where States have main responsibility of Education and Health. Central Govt forms National policy and give financial support for its implementation.Government structure of Health Institutions are from Sub Primary Health centers (1000-3000) to District/Civil Hospitals to Medical Colleges Hospitals ( 479 + 100 ) producing about 50,000 ( 10,000 ) Doctors a year concentrating in Urban areas. 17 All India Institutes of Medical Sciences covering most part of the country are highly specialized Institutions giving routine Medico Surgical care to high skill advance care.
ESI Hospitals ( Employees state Insurance Hospitals )- nominal insurance premium to all Government/ Private organizations employee with all Surgical care . Needs better management
Large number of Private Hospitals have come up even in small towns of less then 30,000 populations giving all care more so most of the routine Surgical procedures, national health care programmes and emergencies.Every State has Ambulance Sercice to transport patient to higher centers if needed free of charges ( Needs to be strengthen )
Large Cooperative /Social organizations/ religious Institutions Hospitals have come up in Urban as well Rural populations providing all medico Surgical care on subsidized rates but not affordable by poors in rural areas.
Large Corporate Hospitals from Business Houses or Group of Doctors have come up all mover the Country giving all medical care and advance Surgical procedures as good as any where in the world but at high cost
Health Insurance has come up in large number and most of middle and high income group are taking advantage.Lower middle and poor group needs a better system to take proper affordable good Medico Surgical care.
Public- Private Partnership to develop High class Hospital in Semi Urban areas with rural vicinity and Ambulance connectivity is a solution. Needs lots of home work and dedication from public for clean participation and Government to provide truth full services and help the system with out EGOS of any kind.
