Yagna and effect on Environment

There are two basic energy systems in physical world-Heat and Sound.

Yagna energy is from both heat (fire) and sound of chanting mantras to get physical, psychological and spiritual benefits.

Fumigation, vaporization and subtlisation of specific substances in the Yagna fire constitute a variable scientific method of sublimation of matter and expansion. its colloid state generates ions and energy with postures effect in the atmosphere through specific sonic waves of the Mantras.

Chemical changes during Yagna –

  • Wood (Samvidha), mixture of odoriferous and medicinal herbs (Havan Samagri)   are the basic contents Yagna.Wood is dry and of herbal value from trees of – Santalum Album (Sandal Wood).Aquilave Malaceenesis and Valerina Wellach (borax wood, Agar and Tagar Wood), Codryslibani ( Cedar Wood). Mangifera indica (Mango) Butea Frondosa (Palash) Aegle Mamelos (Billava), Ficus Religosa (Pipal), Ficus bengalensis (Banyan) Proposis Spingera (Shami), Ficus Glomerata (Gular).
  • Havan Samagri – consist of – Odoriferous substances – Saffron, Musk, Agar, Tagar, Sandal Wood, Cardamom, Nutmag, Javitri, Camphor etc.
  •  Substances with Healing property – Ghee, milk, fruits, linseed,  cereals, wheat barley, rice, millets, grains , peas etc
  • Sweat substances – Sugar dried dates, resin, honey etc.
  • Medicinal herbs – Tinospora Cordifolio (Giloya), Bacopa Moneri (Brahmi), Convolvulus Pluricaulis (Shankhpushpi), Mesua Ferra (Cobra Saffron-Nagkesar), Glycyrrhiza Globra Bois (Mulhati) Red Sandal Wood, Ginger dry, Harada etc Different combinations are used for different disease for Yagna therapy.

Products of Combustion

Interpretations on scientific basis are different due to –

  • Preparation of substances
  • Condition under which combination takes places, inside the fire, sensitive to shape of kunda, type quantity and arrangements of woods.
  • Variations in temperature and thermodynamics effects are significant from top to bottom of KUNDA.

Products of combustion depends upon –

  • Nature of substance and its proportion
  • Temperature attained
  • Controlled supply of air
  • Interaction among the various products.

Distillation of Wood

Vaporization of odorous substances

  • Temperature 250oc to 600oc
  • Inside flame can be 1200 to 1300oc
  • Following combustion – steam is formed by combination of Hydrogen from decomposed organic molecules with the Oxygen.

Thus substances like THYHMOL, EUAENOL, PINIENE, TERPINOL etc. dispersed  around in air with aroma of Yagna  and can be smelt at distances.

In addition to steam, smoke is emitted in large quantities and solid particles existing in a decomposed state offer sufficient scope for diffusion. Thus smoke also functions as a colloidal vehicle for spreading of volatile aromatic substances.

Combustion of Fatty substances

Ghee keeps fire alive by rapid combustion of cellulose (Wood) and fatty substances like fatty acids, glycerol giving acetone bodies, pyruvic aldehyde and glyoxol etc. Hydrocarbon produced form methyl-ethyl alcohol, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, formic acid and acidic acid.

Photo chemical process –

Vaporized substances undergo photochemical changes under sunlight giving oxidation and reduction reaction. CO2 in reduced to formaldehyde, and liberation of O2. Similarly useful reaction taken place with radiation from Sunrays. Because of this HAVANA is done during day light.

Inverted Pyramid shape Yagna Kunda –

Pyramid means – Fire in the middle. This energy field has specific bacteriostatic properties. It spreads energy in all direction, Shape of Kunda is important and various fields give various type of energy on the basis of its geometrical design.

Chanting of SANSKRIT MANTRA –

Power of sound vibration is known in Science. Alphabet is Sanskrit are endowed with special impulsive phonetics, sending harmonious waves pattern in the air/environment.

Pattern of chanting contain essence of music or quintessential sound of torrent of life – sustaining energies, emanating from cosmic energy centre of the corresponding mantras. Cosmic energy center of GYATRI MANTRA is SUN. These vibrations affect human mind, planets and animals life. These waves fill the atmosphere with serenity and feeling of contentment while offering oblations.

Purification of Environment by Yagna –

  • Pollution of environment by deforestation, Industrialization, urbanization, radioactive luacte etc. are well known
  • Physical ailment, disease are less in as a where Yagna is performed routinely Mantras – vibrations, fire energy, oblation fumes – purify air, and affect body and mind and purify it totally. Atmosphere is clear and clean with bacteriostatic effects Fumes of Ghee controls effect of radiation of Radioactive material.
  • Removal of Foul Odour – Foul odour is naturalized by steam volatization of offerings.

Removal of Bacteria –

  • Effect  on Plants and Vegetation – Aromatic substances diffuses in air protect plants against harmful organism. Use Yagna ash as fertilizer.
  • Role of CO2 generated in Yagna – Carbon monoxide and dioxides generated diffuses slowly and take up by trees and converted to O2 very quickly under the influence of various flames and vibration activating chemical and physiological reaction in leaves.
  •  Small amount of CO2 inhaled during Yagna stimulates brain by inhaling aromatic flames which helps in curing mental disorder.

Results of some Recent Experiments –

  • Reduction of 75%   level of Sulphur Dioxide, 10%  – Nitrous Oxide, 70%  – bacteria in water samples.
  • Carbon monoxide levels reduce from 117 ppm to O in some cases.
  • Dev Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya at Shantikunj, Hardwar is doing research on these environmental changes.
