Scope of cover:
The policy shall indemnify claims arising of bodily injury and/or death of any patient caused by or alleged to have been caused by error, omission or negligence in professional service rendered by the surgeon. This can also include qualified assistants or any nurse or technician employed by the surgeon named in the proposal.
Indemnity Limit
The maximum amount payable in respect of one incident (any one act). This includes defence costs and expenses incurred with the consent of Insurer.
The indemnity limit is chosen by the surgeon for one incident (AOA) and for all claims made against the surgeon during the policy period.(AOY) arising out of all Acts.
The AOA and AOY can be 1:1 to the maximum 1:4.
Medico Legal panel will be constituted as suggested by you.
The premium for various indemnity limit is indicated in our earlier mail.
We have given discount of 37.5% on market premium taking into account the elite professional group and also volume of nearly 10000 surgeon members as on date.
The qualified assistants, nurses and technicians can also be covered at an additional premium of 7.5% on the premium.
The number of employees, their job specifications , their experience and nature of their supervision need to be mentioned in the proposal form.
Professional Indemnity for Medical Establishment
The policy will indemnify the Insured in respect of any act committed by the surgeons or qualified assistants , nurses or qualified technicians named in the proposal engaged by the medical establishment which gives rise to claim arising out of bodily injury and/or death of any patient caused by error/omission or negligence in professional service.
The surgeon can have the option to choose Any one Act limit and Any one Year limit in the ratio of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4.
We have given discount of 9% on the market rate for all medical establishments/nursing homes .
Additional premium of Rs.5/- per head on number of inpatients and Rs.1/- per head on number of outpatients need to be paid in addition to the indemnity premium.
The no. of inpatients and outpatients is based on previous year ‘s record or anticipated no. of patients during the year whichever is higher.
